Long Beach
Long Beach is the thirty-eighth largest city in the United States with nearly 500,000 residents, and is located on the Pacific Coast between Los Angeles and Orange County. Long Beach has long been known as a city of commerce, having one of the world’s largest shipping ports and many large manufacturing and aerospace corporations. Long Beach is made up of 58 unique neighborhoods, each with its own cultural identity. Culture is diverse and admired in Long Beach. Many museums, musical venues, theaters, and murals can be found throughout Long Beach and the city has several active redevelopment projects.
Public transportation is essential to travel in Long Beach and very convenient with an organized grid system. Several school districts serve Long Beach and many private schools and two universities and colleges can be found, as well. Places of interest include the Queen Mary, the Long Beach Convention Center, the Aquarium of the Pacific, El Dorado Nature Center and Regional Park, Recreation Park, the Long Beach Grand Prix and Motorsports Walk of Fame, and the Earl Burns Miller Japanese Garden at California State University, Long Beach.
